Angus was born in Plockropool in the Bays of Harris and was brought up in the house which is now his home with his wife Christina and their three children.
With a family heritage in Harris Tweed weaving and fishing, it was no surprise when Angus pursued both occupations on leaving school but the pull of the sea was too persuasive, work with ferry company Calmac and as a commercial fisherman followed, and he has barely been out of wellies since!
Angus’s fishing career included summer seasons fishing for crab and lobster around St Kilda and he developed a deep and enduring love for St Kilda and founded Kilda Cruises, the award winning day cruises company running the first regular day trip services to the island in 2005.
The company was an instant and sustained success with accolades for customer service following, culminating in winning the Scottish Thistle Award for Best Outdoor Adventure and with Angus being made an Honorary Member of the St Kilda Club for his dedication and services to the St Kilda archipelago.
Kilda Cruises is the only boat trip company in the Outer Hebrides awarded 5 stars by VisitScotland and Angus aims to bring the same attention to detail and passion for passenger satisfaction to Isle of Harris Sea Tours.
A fluent speaker of Gaelic, Angus has had a lifelong interest in the culture and history of Harris and has a wealth of insight and knowledge of the Harris coastline to share.
